1. Classification of insulating materials

The insulation materials commonly used in electrical engineering can be divided into inorganic insulating materials, organic insulating materials and mixed insulating materials according to their different chemical properties.

(1)inorganic insulating materials: mica, asbestos, marble, porcelain, glass, sulfur, etc., mainly for motor, electrical winding insulation, switch base plate and insulator, etc.

(2)organic insulating materials: shellac, resin, rubber, cotton yarn, paper, hemp, silk, rayon, mostly used in the manufacture of insulating paint, winding wire coated insulation, etc.

2. Heat resistance grade of insulating materials

(1) Grade Y insulating materials: natural textiles such as wood, cotton and fiber, textiles based on acetate fiber and polyamide, and new materials with low decomposition and melting point.Limit operating temperature: 90 degrees.

(2) Grade A insulation materials: Y grade materials that work in mineral oil and are impregnated with oil or oleoresin composite glue, insulation and oil paint for enameled wire, enameled cloth and lacquer wire.Asphalt paint, etc.Limit operating temperature: 105 degrees.

(3) Grade E insulation materials: polyester film and A class material composite, glass cloth, oily resin paint, polyvinyl acetal high-strength enameled wire, vinyl acetate heat-resistant enameled wire.Limit operating temperature: 120 degrees.

(4) Grade B insulating materials: polyester film, mica, glass fiber, asbestos, etc., impregnated with appropriate resin bonding, polyester paint, polyester enameled wire.Limit operating temperature: 130 degrees.
