1. What is Class F insulation?

Seven maximum permissible temperatures are specified for different insulating materials by their ability to withstand high temperatures. They are listed in order of temperature: Y, A, E, B, F, H, and C.  Their allowable operating temperatures are above 90, 105, 120, 130, 155, 180 and 180℃ respectively.  Therefore, class F insulation indicates that the generator is insulated at 155℃.  When the generator is working, the user should ensure that the insulation material of the generator does not exceed this temperature to ensure the normal operation of the generator.

2. What are the main F class insulation materials?

Mica products reinforced with organic fiber materials, glass fiber and asbestos, glass fabric, laminated products based on glass fiber cloth and asbestos fiber, mica powder products reinforced with inorganic materials and stone belt, polyester or alkyd materials with good chemical thermal stability, composite silicone organic polyester paint.  The limit operating temperature of class F insulation is 155 degrees.
