What is the insulation material?

1.Insulation material is the material that does not conduct electricity under the allowable voltage, but is not the material that absolutely does not conduct electricity.In a certain external electric field,conductivity, polarization, loss, breakdown and other processes will also occur ,and long-term use will also occur aging.

2.Insulating materials have high resistivity, usually in the range of 1010 ~ 1022 Ω.As in an electrical machine, around a conductor,the insulation material isolates the turns and the grounding of the stator core, to ensure the safe operation of the motor.

What is the main performance indexes of insulation material?

1.Breakdown strength 

The insulation material will be damaged and lose the insulation performance under the action of the electrical field intensity higher than a certain value.The electrical field intensity value that insulation material been breakdown is called breakdown strength.

2.Heat resistance

The heat resistance grade is different for Insulation materials with different compositions. The heat resistance grade can be divided into 7 grades,they are Y,A,E,B,F,H,C grade.

3.Insulation resistance

The value of resistance presented by the insulating material is the insulation resistance.Normally,the insulation resistance is more than dozens MΩ.

4.Mechanical strength

According to the specific requirements of various insulating materials, the corresponding prescribed strength indexes such as tensile and bending resistance, shear resistance, tear resistance and impact resistance are collectively referred to as mechanical strength
